I videoed this sound of a subway train in glasgow scotland on the famous "clockwork orange" train as they are called. I used my canon powershot a460 digital camera to video this, i simply took the sound from the video. I was lucky enough to get a good run on this with just a few poeple on board, so there wasn't any other sound apart from the train, the only time you here some movement of feet is when the doors open. Please note, anybody is free to use this sound, you don't have to credit me, but it would be fun to hear how you use my sound if possible. :) here is the link to the type of licence i use. Quiet urban residential area in tokyo at about 2 am in the late summer (october, i think). You can hear far off traffic, some night insects and a drunk guy who came to close to my hidden mics to take a whiz. Excluding the peeing guy, quiet parts are perfect for looping (for ambient background sounds in video or audio works). The peeing guy might actually be useful, so i didn't cut it out. Faithfully recorded with a stereo mic pair placed at a 90 degree angle. The left-right balance was adjusted and the stereo field was expanded later to fix the lopsided sided flatness of the original recording. Other than that, the recording is unprocessed.

On many days i take a two mile walk from my house to my job. One gorgeous day i took my zoom h1 and sampled audio at various points during this walk. To avoid footsteps, i recorded each location standing still. In this file i gradually crossfade between the different locations. The walk begins on a suburban street, goes past a park where children are playing baseball, then a busy intersection, then a factory with open windows. A couple planes can be heard overhead. The last thing in the recording is the door of my job opening. ----recorded with internal microphones of a zoom h1.

This was recorded in the centre of oxford, near the junction between broad street and turl street, on 23rd february 2013. I was facing west along broad street with turl street, and the pavement, to my left. There are many different sounds on this recording including bikes being parked (i was standing near a bike rack) and ridden, cars lurking for a parking space, dropping people off and turning round (broad street has a car park in the middle of it), plenty of different people walking past and talking, and a big issue seller. There is the occasional bit of wind noise, but not as much as i'd feared (luckily the wind was behind me). Recorded with a marantz pmd661 with built-in microphones.
